CYCLONES SUFFER RARE REGULATION HOME LOSS

Cincinnati Drops First of Two Home Games this Week

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (13-10-2-2) fell to the Indy Fuel, 5-1, on Tuesday night. Forward Jack Downing scored the lone goal for the Cyclones, who suffer just their second regulation loss at home this season.

After the Fuel took an early 1-0 lead in the first on a 5-on-3 power play goal from forward Garett Bembridge, the Cyclones got on the board while on the power play, when defenseman Mike Ratchuk sent a rink-wide feed to Downing who hammered home a one-timer, tying the game, 1-1, 13:58 into the first.

That lead was short lived, as roughly four minutes later, the Fuel took a 2-1 lead, when forward Matt S. White beat Cyclones goaltender Brandon Whitney.

Indy’s 2-1 lead held up throughout the remainder of the opening period, and in the second, they tacked on one more, as forward Cody Sharib found the back of the net 53 seconds into the period, extending their lead to 3-1.

The Cyclones got some good looks offensively in the second, however could not find the back of the net, and the Fuel took their 3-1 lead into the locker room after 40 minutes.

The Fuel would continue to pressure the Cyclones the third, receiving markers from forward Alex LeVoie and defenseman Ben Marshall, sending the Fuel to a 5-1 win.

Cincinnati was outshot on the night, 25-23, while the power play converted on one-of-three chances. The Cyclones next take the ice on Thursday against the Toledo Walleye, in the final game of 2015. Faceoff is slated for 6:05pm ET from U.S. Bank Arena.
