CYCLONES RE-UP De FULVIIS, ADD JONES

Roster Coming Together as Off-Season Winds Down

Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans and the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres, have re-signed forward Rob De Fulviis and added goaltender Davis Jones to Standard Player Contracts (SPC) for the 2017-18 season.

Hailing from Toronto, ONT, De Fulviis appeared in 26 games for the Cyclones last season, accounting for a goal and a pair of assists along with 36 minutes in penalties. He made his pro debut in 2015-16, skating in five games with the Wheeling Nailers and Indy Fuel, however did not record a point.

“We are happy to announce the return of Rob De Fulviis for this season,” said Cyclones Head Coach Matt Macdonald. “He is a great character person on and off the ice and brings a lot of energy to our line-up. He was effective with us last season in the role that he played and we hope he will continue to grow as a player in his second pro season."

Prior to turning pro, De Fulviis spent three seasons at the University of Guelph where he totaled 61 points (28g, 33a) in 78 games played.

“I can’t wait to play in front of the best fans in the League for a second year,” remarked De Fulviis. “I’m excited to continue getting better and improve my game every day, and am looking forward to being a part of something special this year.”

Jones is entering his first full pro season, after signing an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO) with the now-defunct Alaska Aces late last season.

“Davis comes to us highly recommended. He is an extremely hard working goalie that brings the same work ethic every day,” commented Macdonald. “He has had solid collegiate numbers and we are excited to see it translate to the pro level.”

He spent the previous four seasons at the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, appearing in 67 games in that time. His best season statistically came during his senior year in 2016-17 where he posted a 2.72 goals-against average and a .972 save percentage in 20 games played.

“I’m excited to play in a city where I’ve heard such great things about the fans and atmosphere in the rink,” said Jones. “I’m looking forward to battling with my teammates and continuing to build a winning culture with the Cyclones.”
