CYCLONES STUMBLE IN HOME RETURN

Cincinnati Opens Six-Game Home Stand

Cincinnati, OH-The Cincinnati Cyclones (12-7-1-0) fell to the Orlando Solar Bears, 5-2, on Tuesday night. Forwards Rob De Fulviis and Jesse Schultz lit the lamp for Cincinnati.

The Solar Bears struck first in this one, receiving a goal from forward Chris LeBlanc with 1.7 seconds to play in the opening period to take a 1-0 lead through 20 minutes.

Orlando added three more in the second from forwards Max Novak, Kristian Prospisil, and Tayler Thompson to take a 4-0 advantage after two periods.

Cincinnati came out strong in the third and got on the board 51 seconds in when a shot from forward Brandon McNally was tipped in by De Fulviis, cutting the Cyclones’ deficit to 4-1.

Roughly three minutes later that deficit became 4-2 while on the power play, when forward Justin Danforth fed Schultz on a 2-on-1 and she slid it in past Orlando goaltender Cal Heeter.

That was all the offense Cincinnati was able to muster however, as the Solar Bears tacked on a power play tally from Jean Dupry to seal their 5-2 win.

The Cyclones outshot Orlando, 25-24 on the night, with goaltenders Jonas Johansson and Jason Kasdorf combining to stop 19 in the loss. The two teams wrap up their two-game season series on Thursday evening at 7:35pm ET.
