Cincinnati, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Buffalo Sabres and the American Hockey League’s (AHL) Rochester Americans, and in conjunction with the ECHL, have announced the playoff roster for the 2018 Kelly Cup Playoffs.

The Cyclones’ roster is comprised of 23 players who have seen time with the Cyclones this season, including 12 forwards, eight defensemen, and three goaltenders.

Throughout the Playoffs, but prior to the start of the Conference Finals, as recalled players listed on a team’s Playoff Eligible List become available (due to assignment, release from PTO or their respective AHL teams’ seasons having ended), teams are still allowed to add players to their playoff posters from that list, up to a maximum of 23 Players total. Once a team has named a total of 23 Players to its playoff roster, or the Conference Finals have begun (whichever comes first), that team’s roster is fixed for the duration of the playoffs (barring emergency conditions).

Emergency conditions shall be established when the playing strength of a team, by reason of injury, illness, recall or suspension by the League, is reduced below two (2) goalkeepers and sixteen (16) skaters. However, should a team release a player or players from its playoff roster, its emergency conditions will drop by the same number as the players they release. Only amateur Players may be signed and added to the active roster under emergency conditions.

Additionally, the Americans have reassigned defenseman Arvin Atwal, along with goaltenders Jonas Johansson and Jason Kasdorf to the Cyclones.

Recalled on January 24, Atwal has skated in 14 games with the Americans this season, accounting for a pair of goals and an assist in that time. In 27 games with Cincinnati, the Delta, BC, native has accounted for three goals and eight assists, along with 57 minutes in penalties.

A native of Galve, SWE, Johansson has appeared in 27 games with the Cyclones this season, posting a 14-11-1-0 record to go along with a 3.13 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.  Kasdorf has a 13-11-1-0 record in 28 games with the Cyclones, turning out a 3.04 GAA and a .903 SV% in the process. He appeared in one game with the Americans this season, posting a 3.00GAA and a .900 SV%.
