Scott Darling Makes NHL Debut

CINCINNATI, Ohio - Former Cyclones goaltender Scott Darling became the 16th alum in club history to make his NHL debut when he started in net for the Chicago Blackhawks last night.

Darling impressed in his first NHL game, making 32 saves on 33 shots against the Ottawa Senators to help the Blackhawks earn a 2-1 win. He was also named the first star of the game.

The Lemont, Illinois native played six games for the Cyclones during the 2013-14 season, earning a 4-1-1 record and a 2.61 goals-against average. He also spent ample time in the American Hockey League (AHL) last season, accruing a 13-6-0 record and an 2.00 goals-against average.

Darling is the 16th former Cyclones since the 2006-07 season to make his NHL debut, and the first this season. Click here to see the full list of Cyclones alums who have made their NHL debut.

The 'Clones will head back out on the road this weekend as they visit the Quad City Mallards, a new ECHL team this season, on Friday and Saturday night. Both contests are set to begin at 8:00pm ET. The Cyclones will return to U.S. Bank Arena on Friday, November 7 when they welcome in the Indy Fuel at 7:30pm. It will be the first Kids Eat FREE Night of the season where fans ages 2-12 will enjoy some FREE food courtesy of John Morrell.
