CYCLONES CONTINUE TO ROLL WITH WIN OVER TULSA

Iles Perfect as Cyclones Win Fourth Straight

CINCINNATI, OH- The Cincinnati Cyclones (29-20-3-2) extended their winning streak to four games, with a 3-0 shutout win over the Tulsa Oilers on Friday night. Forwards Zach Budish, Colin Mulvey, and Andrew Yogan scored the goals for the Cyclones, while goaltender Andy Iles stopped all 27 shots he faced for his second shutout as a Cyclone.

The Cyclones wasted little time finding the back of the net in this one, as 14:40 into the first, Yogan came down the left wing on a 2-on-1 rush and sent a cross-ice feed to Budish, who wristed the puck past Tulsa goaltender Jussi Olkinuora, putting the Cyclones up, 1-0.

Just 43 seconds later, the Cyclones struck again, when forward Tommy Mele brought the puck over the left-wing blue line, and tossed a pass to Mulvey who was creeping down the backside, and he slipped the puck past Olkinuora, extending Cincinnati’s lead to 2-0 after 20 minutes.

After a scoreless second period that was highlighted by a windmill kick save from Iles on Tulsa forward Christophe Lalancette, who found some space all alone out front, the Cyclones and Oilers exchanged quality scoring chances in the third. Cincinnati capped off their eighth win in the last nine games, when Yogan skated over the offensive blueline and chipped the puck into the empty net with less than a minute left, sealing the 3-0 Cyclones win.

The Oilers outshot Cincinnati, 27-16 on the night. The Cyclones wrap up their four-game homestand on Saturday night against the Indy Fuel. Faceoff is slated for 7:35pm ET.
