CYCLONES RENEW PARTNERSHIP WITH CINCINNATI POLICE DEPARTMENT

Hockey and Police Come Together to Help Local Children

Cincinnati, OH-  The Cincinnati Cyclones have announced they are partnering with the Cincinnati Police Department for the Cyclones’ annual Teddy Bear Toss, which will take place during the team’s December 3rd contest against the Missouri Mavericks.

“The Cincinnati Police Department is extremely grateful for the opportunity to extend our partnership with the Cincinnati Cyclones for the sixth straight year,” remarked Sgt. Tim Fritz of the Cincinnati Police Department. “The continuous love and support the Cyclones’ organization and fans have for the children of this community allows CPD officers to give teddy bears to young victims of crimes, accidents, and other traumatic events.”

This is the sixth season that the CPD has partnered with the Cyclones for this event, which encourages fans to bring a new or gently loved stuffed animal to the game to throw onto the ice following the Cyclones’ first goal of the evening. The tossed stuffed animals will then be donated to the Police Department who will use them to bring comfort to young victims of crime, accidents, and fires in Cincinnati.

“We are thrilled to continue our long-standing partnership with the Cincinnati Police Department for this fun event,” said Cyclones General Manager Kristin Ropp. “Anything the Cyclones and U.S. Bank Arena can do for Cincinnati’s finest and this great community is a pleasure.”

This year’s Teddy Bear Toss will, once again, coincide with Throwback Night which will feature $10 tickets, $1 John Morrell Hot Dogs, Donatos Pizza, soda and beer.

“We hope the teddy bears provide comfort to the children of our community, and the interaction between the officers and the children create positive memories that last a lifetime,” continued Fritz. “Our heartfelt thanks to both the Cyclones organization and their fans.”

Over the last three seasons, Cyclones fans have donated close to 12,000 stuffed animals to children in need in Cincinnati.
