'Clones Sign Etter, Yeamans

The Cyclones continue to bring in new bodies for the upcoming weekend, signing defenseman Bryan Etter and forward Brandon Yeamans to Standard Player Contracts.

In other roster news, Cyclones forward Mason Mitchell was dealt to the Idaho Steelheads on Wednesday for future considerations. Mitchell, 27, was in his fifth season of professional hockey and second with the Cyclones. Over 74 games in Cincinnati, Mitchell posted 22 goals and 41 points. The Calgary, Alberta native posted 10 points in 17 games with the Cyclones this season, including a pair of game-winning-goals for the team.

Bryan Etter

Born: Medford, NJ

HT: 6’2”  |  WT: 201 lbs

  • Rookie season. Has already played eight ECHL games this year (one with South Carolina; seven with Tulsa). No pro points through eight games, but does own two penalty minutes and a +1 rating on the season. 
  • Also played in 15 games for SPHL-Macon earlier this season, posting two goals and four points. 
  • 2021-22 season marks Etter's return to hockey after last playing in the 2017-18 campaign. Skated parts of two seasons with Division III Suffolk University.  
  • Final year of junior hockey was spent with USPHL's Rochester Jr. Americans in 2015-16. Collected three assists over 39 games.

Brandon Yeamans 

Position: Forward

Age: 23 (5/26/1998)

Born: Maple, ON

HT: 5’10”  |  WT: 159 lbs

Shoots: Right

  • Rookie forward. Yeamans joins goaltender Brendan Bonello and defenseman Justin Bean from York University to the Cyclones this week. Yeamans scored three goals and earned four points over six games with the Lions to start the season.
  • Second season of action with York University. Skated in 16 games with the school during 2019-20 campaign, posting two goals and three points during his freshman season.
  • Spent bulk of junior playing career in the OJHL. Final season was 2018-19 split between Mississauga and North York. Was named to First All-Star Team with 70 points in 49 games. 
  • Played for Federal Hockey League's Danville Dashers in 2017-18 for 13 games as a 19-year-old. Tallied 11 points (four goals, seven assists).
